This precast modular home seeks to address the seeming impossible task of making the structure fit in with it's surroundings. The large window allows plenty of sunlight for the winter and vice-versa for the summer season. Using materials found directly on the site, architect Hady Mirawdaly constructed the house to be eco-friendly.

Originally designed by dada design for the coastlines of the Philippines, these modular floating homes were a response to climate change. The design also addresses the Philippines archipelagic state with over 2.2 million km2 of operative seas create a stable electricity production challenge. Each home will be self-powered through what they call 'power farming' - a crowd-sourcing methodology. Utilizing tidal generators as opposed to their current use of coal and hydroelectric dams, coupled with solar and turbine generators, a sustainable energy infrastructure would be built for the seafaring culture and 12th largest nation in the world.

In one of the most luxurious and exclusive residential enclaves in the world, Fran Silvestre Arquitectos have designed a home which carries their tradition of clean sight-lines and minimalism. Making use of the terrain, the house extends like a beacon of tranquility. Somehow there is both separation and inclusion as the open design allows for a seamless indoor/outdoor experience. Located in the mountains, the house is meant to deal with the humidity as it sits atop a singular structure which houses the technical and service areas.

In Japan, a car-loving couple built a house that showcases their Maserati Gran Turismo like an art exhibit. Privacy was a high priority as well, so the exterior is completely wrapped with long window slats. Openings at all four corners, at intermittent levels and in the roof allow plenty of natural light. The house is located in Takamatsu, the geometric design reduces it's footprint and the minimalist cubed exterior provides a sense of safety. The mind behind the design is Fujiwaramuro Architects.

In Bangkok, there is a strip where this luxury rooftop pool sits atop a mixed-use development project in the heart of the city. Completed in 2018, the eye-catching rooftop pool is quite noticeable with it's curvy umbrella-like structure. Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard is a project by Waldorf Astoria that is referred to as a "Truly High Performance Building" designed by SHMA Designs.

Net-Zero-Energy buildings are rare and upgrading existing structures will be an immense undertaking. 3D-printing is also on the rise and here we have a prime example of both. Utilizing Branch Technology's freeform process, the Curve Appel 3-D Printed House will be the first of it's kind. Inspired by the Case Study Houses of the 1950's, the home will use solar carving and passive mechanical systems to achieve its net-zero-energy status.
